CO2 Laser Resurfacing in Denver, CO

For brighter, smoother, more vibrant skin

CO2 laser is a powerful tool in the world of skin care. CO2 laser resurfacing is well proven to treat fine lines and wrinkles, sun spots, and acne scars. It will help even skin tone and texture.

CO2 laser is an ablative laser, meaning it heats and remodels the tissue it targets, leading to new collagen production.

Unlike older CO2 lasers, today’s CO2 lasers use fractional technology which keeps micro-channels of normal tissue in between the treated tissue, decreasing downtime and side effects, while still providing superior skin resurfacing results.

Dr. Misch performs CO2 laser skin resurfacing in her Denver, CO facial plastic surgery clinic under topical anesthesia.

Who is a CO2 laser skin resurfacing candidate?

You are a CO2 laser skin resurfacing candidate if you are starting to show signs of aging in your skin via fine lines or wrinkles, have textural or tone abnormalities, have acne scarring, or sun exposure skin changes. Typically CO2 laser skin resurfacing is performed in patients with lighter skin tones, however there are adjustments that can be made so that patients with darker skin tones can also be treated.

What are the benefits of CO2 laser skin resurfacing?

CO2 laser skin resurfacing helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles, reduces the appearance of acne scarring, and evens skin tone and texture, leading to brighter, more youthful looking skin.

What is CO2 laser skin resurfacing recovery like?

Initially, for the first day or so, you may have mild facial pain or stinging- almost as if you have a sunburn. The fractionally ablative nature of CO2 laser means that it provides the most dramatic results, but its recovery may take a bit longer than other, less effective lasers. You should expect your skin to be red or pink for 7-10 days, but you may cover it with makeup starting on day 2 or 3. You will need to be conscious of sun exposure after treatment. If out in the sun, it is imperative to wear sunscreen.
