Do I need neck liposuction or will a less invasive procedure work for me?

To start, no one NEEDS neck liposuction! It simply depends on what your goals are. A less invasive option to neck liposuction is Kybella. Kybella is an injectable medication that dissolves fat. It is less predictable than neck liposuction, but represents a reasonable option for patients not wanting to undergo a surgical procedure.

Where are the incisions in neck liposuction?

The incisions in neck liposuction are incredibly small (< 5mm) and hidden under the chin and behind each ear.

What medications should I take before and after neck liposuction?

Most herbal supplements should be stopped 2 weeks prior to surgery. Any blood thinner or aspirin will also need to be stopped. You should avoid taking NSAIDs for 7 days prior to surgery. Supplements like arnica, bromelain, vitamin C, and zinc may be taken prior to surgery, as these can help reduce bruising and swelling. You may be prescribed pain medication after neck liposuction. Dr. Misch will personally review your medication list prior to surgery and discuss what to and not to take with you directly.

Will I have drains placed during neck liposuction?

No, drains are not used after neck liposuction.
