Dermal facial filler is used to add volume to the face. This can be where volume has been lost due to age, or just in areas you would like highlighted with more volume. Typical areas treated with dermal fillers include lips, cheeks, tear trough/under eyes and nasolabial folds, but areas such as the temples, jawline, and chin can also be augmented.

Dermal Filler FAQs
How often do I need Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are gradually absorbed by the body over time. Newer data suggests that fillers take longer to be absorbed than previously thought. You are ready for more fillers when you feel the volumizing effect from your initial treatment has diminished.
What medications should I avoid before dermal fillers?
To minimize bruising after dermal fillers, it is recommended to avoid NSADs (Advil, Aleve) for ~ 3 days prior to treatment. Avoiding alcohol the day of and day before will also help.
Some patients like to take arnica a day or two before and after filler injections to help with bruising.
What is the difference between the different dermal fillers?
There are many variations of dermal filler. Of the hyaluronic acid fillers, the Juvederm and Restylane brands are most commonly used. The various hyaluronic acid fillers differ in thickness (called G’), causing certain fillers to be better than others for specific areas of the face.
Other fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra are longer lasting fillers and cannot be dissolved or reversed.
Dr. Misch will discuss your goals with you and determine the best fillers for your treatment.
